Daycare
Cedar Valley Montessori School has a licensed daycare facility, which operates Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Daycare is available to any child who is enrolled at CVMS (on their program days), and employs a structure and philosophy much like that found in the regular Montessori classroom.
Hot lunches are available upon request. Parents are billed at the end of the month for daycare and hot lunches. The staff prefers parents give a one-day notice that their child will be staying in the daycare and a time of pick-up, but will always try to accommodate last-minute changes in schedules. There is an annual daycare user fee of $20. A late fee will be incurred by parents who pick their child up later than 5:30 p.m. The charge is as follows: $1 a minute for the first offense, $5 a minute for the second offense, $10 a minute for the third offense. The penalty is to allow daycare providers to go home or to meet other commitments. The Department of Human Services requires that all children remaining in the daycare in the afternoon have a rest/nap time. These children will need a blanket. However, cots, mats, sheets and pillows are provided.
